Abstract: This specification covers a petroleum testing kit for ground fuels. The equipment is used to perform American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) tests for temperature determination, distillation, flash point, specific gravity, free water and particulate contamination. Intended Use: The kit is intended for use in the field to perform quality surveillance tests on fuel used in ground equipment. The kit covered by this performance specification is military unique because the tests are performed in a field setting with temperatures ranging from −33° C to 63° C. Commercial equipment is not designed to withstand these harsh environmental conditions.
