Abstract: This standard establishes minimum design criteria and associated tests for ammunition unit loads.Intended Use: It is intended to be used in the design and evaluation of unit loads for the end product ammunition line item as distributed to the user, not for those unit loads of inert components moving between contractors as a part of the manufacturing process. The criteria contained herein are not intended to be limiting or restrictive. When justified in individual cases, additional or modified procedures may be used. If deviations from this standard affect handling, transportation, or stowage characteristics, advance notice will be given by the design activity to all services who will handle the unit load.
