description abstract3.1 The purpose of this practice is to provide the minimum manufacturing requirements for amusement rides and devices and to provide the minimum requirements for a written quality assurance program for an amusement ride or device manufacturer, or component supplier. 3.2 This practice is not intended to include manufacture of off-the-shelf parts, components, or assemblies that (a) are standardized items; (b) are commercially available without requiring custom design, engineering, or manufacture; and (c) have to meet published performance specifications, testing data, or specific ratings which have been provided by the original equipment manufacturer. 3.3 This practice applies to sub-contracted manufacturing in the same manner as it applies to OEM manufacturing.
