MIL-L-15719A
LUBRICATING GREASE (HIGH-TEMPERATURE, ELECTRIC MOTOR, BALL AND ROLLER BEARINGS)
Organization:
NAVY - SH - Naval Sea Systems Command (Ship Systems)
Year: 1952
Abstract: This specification covers high temperature grease (type HTG) for the lubrication of ball and roller bearings only, primarily for lubricating class H insulated (silicone) electric motors with heat-stabilized ball bearings. Under no circumstances should it be applied to bearings in which the main action involves the sliding of metal on metal, as in journal bearings, spiral gears, gear trains, and similar applications. The normal temperature range of the grease is 0° to 300°F.
