Abstract: PREFACE
1. With ratification and promulgation of STANAG 2486 nations agree to adopt this AOP and to submit and maintain their national ammunition data.
2. Information in this AOP will enhance interchangeability of ammunition during logistic emergencies in operations (according to the rules described in STANAG 2928 and AOP-6 Volume I) or based on national authorization (according to the rules described in STANAG 2232 and AOP-6 Volume II).
3. Procedures for interchangeability are described in STANAG 2459.
4. Ammunition data in AOP-40 will support and enhance the safe use in another nation's weapon system, multinational storage, transport and logistic planning of multinational operations.
