Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 14—Natural Gas Fluid Measurement Section 6—Continuous Density Measurement - Second Edition
Organization:
API - American Petroleum Institute
Year: 2012
Abstract: Scope and Field of Application
This standard provides criteria and procedures for designing, installing, and operating continuous density measurement systems for Newtonian fluids in the petroleum, chemical, and natural gas industries. The intent of this standard is to provide the user with a density accuracy of 0.10 percent for most applications.
The application of this standard is limited to clean, hornogeneous, single-phase liquids or supercritical fluids. The procedures and criteria contained in this standard have been successfully applies to fluids whose flowing density is greater than 0.3 gram per cubic centimeter at operating conditions above 60 F (15.6C) and saturation pressure.
This standard does not advocate the preferential use of any particular type of equipment. Neither is it the intent of this standard to restrict the future development or improvement of density measuring equipment. The contracting parties should mutually agree on equipment selection, design, and operating procedures prior to custody transfer.
