Abstract: This manual deals with operations based upon the doctrine of search and rescue evolved to date, and presents the techniques and procedures on which further expansion of the doctrine may be based. It is intended to serve as a guide to all operational commands which may be assigned responsibility for search and rescue operations. It provides information for all who may be confronted with search and rescue problems and should be used in conjunction with ICAO and IMO SAR publications.
