Abstract: Purpose.
Note: All references to ‘Mine Warfare', ‘Mine Countermeasures' and ‘mines' throughout this publication refer to ‘Naval Mine Warfare', ‘Naval Mine Countermeasures' and ‘sea mines' respectively.
The purpose of MTP-6(C), Volume I, is to provide guidance and common doctrine for Multi-National mine countermeasures forces in support of MTP-1. It is the governing NATO mine warfare publication and covers mine countermeasures planning and mine countermeasures operations. MTP-6(C), Volume I, is intended for application at the operational level.
