description abstractThis specification establishes the technical requirements for a body-worn, 9-volt D.C. battery-powered, portable intercom to be used with, and form part of, a Chemical, Biological, Radiological (CBR) protective assembly (see figure 1). The intercom described in this specification is designed for use with current and future military airborne communication systems. Intended Use: The intercom covered by this specification is intended to provide the wearer of military unique protective assemblies in CBR contamination environments with the ability to converse: a. with another similarly dressed person. b. with the wearer of a respirator with no intercom/telephone equipment. c. with an unprotected person.
