Year: 1954
Abstract: This specification establishes the general requirements for flexible tube couplings for aircraft fuel systems.
Flexible tube couplings shall be capable of joining standard tubing and fitting ends and shall be of the following types and sizes:
Intended Use: The flexible couplings, covered by this specification are intended for use in aircraft power plant fuel systems to connect rigid tubing together, outside of aircraft fire zones. They are not intended to replace hose assemblies for providing flexibility. Their use is limited to installations having operating temperatures and pressures as specified herein.
Flexible tube couplings shall be capable of joining standard tubing and fitting ends and shall be of the following types and sizes:
Types: I For connecting two AND10060 Type A rolled bead tube ends. II For connecting two AND10058 machined fittings, or two AND10060 Type A rolled bead tube ends, or one AND10058 machined fitting and one AND10060 Type A rolled bead tube end. III For connecting two straight tubing ends. Sizes: Type I, II and III couplings shall be of the following nominal sizes: 1, 1 ¼, 1 ½, 1 ¾, 2, 2 ½, 3, 3 ½, 4, 4 ½, 5, 5 ½, 6, 6 ½, 7, 7 ½, and 8 inches. Note: For sizes larger than 3 inches on fitting ends in accordance with AND10058, the "T" dimension shall be stabilized at ".088"; and for sizes larger than 3 inches on tubing ends in accordance with AND10060 Type A, the "A" dimension shall be stabilized at ".082".
