Abstract: This specification covers two types of cyclohexylamine (see 6.1). Intended Use: Cyclohexylamine is intended for use as a corrosion inhibitor in low pressure heating plants. It volatilizes with steam, circulates through the lines, and returns with the condensate to the boiler. Cyclohexylamine neutralizes acidity resulting from dissolved carbon dioxide and maintains alkalinity to inhibit corrosion in boilers, pipes, and radiators. Selection of type may depend upon environmental conditions of storage and handling. To aid selection of type, physical properties are provided in table IV below. TABLE IV.
