Organization:
SAE - SAE International
Year: 2011
Abstract: Form:
This specification covers a polybenzimidazole (PBI) polyamide fiberglass fabric impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in the form of woven sheet or strip or of braided tubing.
Application:
This fabric has been used typically for anti-chafing cushion between parts, such as flexible metal tubes and tube clips, rub strips, gaskets, and air seals, requiring long-term heat resistance up to 209 ºC (554 ºF), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Safety – Hazardous Materials:
While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use.
