Abstract: This specification covers quenched and tempered high-hardness wrought steel armor plate for lightweight armor applications for ordered thicknesses from 0.118 inches (3 mm) up to an ordered thickness of 2.000 inches (50.8 mm), inclusive (see 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3).Intended Use: The steel armor covered by this specification is intended for lightweight applications where resistance to ball and armor piercing types of ammunition and multiple hit capabilities are required. .
