Abstract: Form
This specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of bars, forgings, flash welded rings, and stock for forging, flash welded rings, or heading.
Application
These products have been used typically for parts, such as turbine rotors, shafts, bolts, dowels, and fittings, requiring high strength up to 1600 °F (871 °C) after precipitation heat treatment and oxidation resistance up to 1800 °F (982 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Classification
Alloy supplied to this specification is classified as follows:
Type 1 - Vacuum induction melted followed by vacuum arc consumable electrode remelting
Type 2 - Vacuum induction melted followed by electroslag remelting
Unless a specific type is ordered, either type may be supplied.
