Standard for Security Services in Fire Loss Prevention - Effective Date: 02/03/2014

Abstract: This standard shall apply to the selection, requirements, duties, and training of security personnel who will perform fire loss prevention duties.
It shall cover the following three categories of security services:
(1) Protection of the property, including times when management is not present
(2) Access and egress control into and within the confines of the protected property
(3) Carrying out procedures for the orderly conduct of various operations at the property
Purpose.
Protection of persons and property against hazards of fire shall be a management responsibility.
The requirements of this standard shall be used to aid management in defining the requirements, duties, and training for individuals to perform security services to protect a property against fire loss.
