MACHINERY SPACE FIREFIGHTING DOCTRINE FOR CLASS BRAVO FIRES

Abstract: PURPOSE.
This Manual promulgates the Machinery Space Firefighting Doctrine (MSFD) for Coast Guard cutters and establishes Coast Guard policy for fighting class BRAVO fires in machinery spaces. MSFD templates have been developed for each cutter class to address the configuration, equipment and proven effective procedures for combating machinery space fires on each cutter class.
