Abstract: This document provides criteria for developing pre-incident plans for use by personnel responding to emergencies. Not every portion of this standard is applicable to the development of all pre-incident plans.
This document is not intended for pre-incident planning related to construction, alteration, and demolition. (See NFPA 241).
Annex A, Explanatory Material; Annex B, Case Histories; Annex C, Special or Unique Characteristics of Occupancy Classifications; and Annex D, Sample Pre-Incident Plan Field Collection Card and Facility Data Record forms provide information to the users of this document.
Purpose. The purpose of this document shall be to develop pre-incident plans to assist personnel in effectively managing incidents and events for the protection of occupants, responding personnel, property, and the environment.
This document is not intended for pre-incident planning related to construction, alteration, and demolition. (See NFPA 241).
