Tension/compression testing machines - Verification and calibration of the force-measuring system

Abstract: This Standard specifies the calibration and verification of tension and compression testing machines (hereafter referred to as "testing machines") used for assessment of mechanical strength characteristics of various kinds of materials.
NOTE 1 This Standard addresses the static verification of the force-measuring systems and the calibration values are not necessarily valid for high-speed or dynamic testing applications. Further information regarding dynamic effects is given in Bibliography.
NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows :
ISO 7500-1 : 2004 Metallic materials-Verification of static uniaxial testing machines-Part 1 : Tension / compression testing machines Verification and calibration of the force-measuring system (MOD)
The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
