SEMITRAILER, FUEL TANKERS: 5000 GALLON, BULKHAUL, AUTOMOTIVE AND AIRCRAFT FUEL SERVICING

Abstract: This specification covers the M900 series tankers, bulkhaul self-load/unload semitrailer; fuel dispensing automotive semitrailer; and fuel dispensing, underwing/overwing aircraft semitrailer. These semitrailers travel over primary and secondary roads and over limited cross-country terrain.Intended Use: The semitrailer, covered in this detail specification, is used for bulkhaul and/or fuel services. The semitrailer, depending upon the type (see table III) carries diesel, liquid chemicals, motor and airplane gasoline, kerosene, and jet fuels. The semitrailer is towed by the military standard truck tractor (M52 or M818) or suitable military substitute truck tractor. With the performance needed to perform in adverse conditions, the semitrailer exceeds the criteria of a commercial type semitrailer, and is therefore considered military unique.
