Abstract: This specification covers the requirements and examination tests for the M1162 Pyrotechnic Self-Destruct Fuze (p-SDF) designed to minimize battlefield duds by adding self-destruct capability to the current Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions (DPICM) M42/M46 grenades used in the Projectile, 155MM: Extended Range, Dual Purpose (DP), M864A1.Intended Use: The components and assemblies covered by this specification are intended to be used in the recapitalization of M864A1 Projectiles utilizing self destruct fuzes.
