Abstract: This document is designed to assist individuals, agencies, organizations, or systems as well as those interested or involved in emergency medical services (EMS) system design.
Purpose.
The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines, resources, and recommendations to assist those interested or involved in EMS systems design. Provision of development and/or prehospital care requires the coordination and cooperation of disparate elements. This document also provides a framework for designing and/or evaluating a comprehensive EMS system. The foundation of this document is based on multiple references, including the EMS Agenda for the Future.
