Abstract: This specification covers requirements for design and establishes a uniform method of testing one type of Artillery Flash Simulator, M21. The purpose of testing is to determine performance, safety, soundness of design and resistance to environments encountered during storage, handling, and service use. Intended Use: The simulator is a device utilizing energy produced by explosives, propellants, or pyrotechnics or a combination thereof to produce a flash, bang and smoke signature. This is a training device used with the Hoffmann Device, EC Corp. Device or Joanell Laboratories Device.
