Abstract: This specification covers a preservative lubricating oil for aircraft and ground small arms weapons at temperatures between 0°F to −70°F (−17.8° to −56.6°C). This lubricating oil is identified by Military symbol LAW and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Code Number O-157. Intended Use: The lubricating oil covered by this specification is intended primarily for the lubrication of aircraft and ground weapons to ensure efficient firing at low temperatures. The oil covered by this specification is considered military unique because it must perform at temperatures between 0°F to −70°F (−17.8° to −56.6°C).
