BOX, AMMUNITION PACKING: WOOD, NAILED

Abstract: This specification covers three types and nine classes of basic box designs having two exterior vertical cleats on each end as shown in figure 1. Also, it covers the closing and strapping requirements for filled boxes (see Appendix A), and prescribe the criteria to be utilized to determine the serviceability of Government furnished boxes (see Appendix B). The box may or may not have hinge and hasp hardware, rope handles and double end construction. Intended Use: Items covered by this specification are intended for use in packaging of military items and it has no commercial application.
