Space Shuttle Program Integration, Planning, Scheduling and Tracking
Year: 2012
Abstract: The fundamental premise of this White Paper is that the early establishment by the Space Shuttle Program (SSP) of an effective System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) organization led directly to the efficient flow of program information, clear lines of communication, and well understood roles and responsibilities by both the program managers and the engineering support. The ultimate success of the Space Shuttle Program (SSP) was due in large part to an organized and disciplined SE&I structure within which multiple engineering organizations, NASA centers, and contractors could function with clarity and predictability.
