SY10 CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR LAB-ON-A-CHIP APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT (LOCAD) PORTABLE TEST SYSTEM (PTS)
Organization:
MSFC - NASA - MSFC - Marshall Space Flight Center
Year: 2005
Abstract: PURPOSE
This Configuration Management Plan (CMP) describes the requirements, responsibilities, and procedures for the Lab-On-a-Chip Application Development (Portable Test System (LOCAD-PTS) project configuration management (CM) system. This plan was developed in accordance with MPR 8040.1, and shall be effective for the life of the project.
The PTS is a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS), rapid, point-of-use test system planned for use on the International Space Station (ISS). The instrument has been designed to operate independently and perform analysis of enzymatic assays related to rapid assessment of microbial contamination. The basic unit is shown in Figure 1. The format is also being considered as an on-board component of life detection instrumentation for future spaceflight missions to look for evidence of life on other planets in our solar system.
