Abstract: This specification establishes the requirements for the manufacture and inspection of two types of bomb ejector racks capable of carrying and releasing stores having suspension lugs spaced 355.6 millimeters (14 inches) apart and weighing from 45 kilograms (100 pounds) to 660 kilograms (1,450 pounds). The test limits in this specification define minimum acceptable capabilities.
Bomb ejector racks, hereinafter called ejector units, covered by this specification shall be of the following types:
Intended Use: Type I ejector units covered by this specification are intended for use in helicopters. Type II ejector units covered by this specification are intended for use in all types of bombing. They are mounted externally in the aircraft wing pylon or fuselage. They are intended for use on either land-based or carrier-based aircraft.
Bomb ejector racks, hereinafter called ejector units, covered by this specification shall be of the following types:
Type I BRU-20, BRU-21, BRU-22, BRU-23 Bomb Ejector Racks Type II BRU-24, BRU-25 Bomb Ejector Racks
Intended Use: Type I ejector units covered by this specification are intended for use in helicopters. Type II ejector units covered by this specification are intended for use in all types of bombing.
