Abstract: This specification covers an all-weather semi-fluid, rotary gun lubricant, resistant to corrosive marine and low temperature environments. Intended Use: The lubricant covered by this specification is intended primarily for use on 20-mm rotary guns such as the M61A1 and M197. The lubricant is used on all parts of the system with the exception of the prelubricated sealed bearings and the recoil spring assemblies. This lubricant reduces corrosion due to exposure to the marine environment, permits high firing rates at low temperatures, and permits operations under icing conditions.
