Abstract: This specification establishes the requirements for systems which keep transparent areas, on aircraft surfaces (windshields and canopies), clear of ice, frost, fog, rain , salt, snow, insects, dust, gun gas residue and grease. These systems are inherent to the aircraft, but can be ground applied. Intended Use: This specification is intended to outline the basic design, construction, test and inspection of systems for prevention and removal of ice, frost, fog, rain, salt, snow, insects, dust, gun gas residue and grease from transparent areas on military aircraft skin surfaces.
