Lessons Learned - Program Management's Lead Role in the Project's Risk Management Process
Year: 2002
Abstract: Description of Driving Event:
The Program\'s senior management had a visible commitment to risk management, which was demonstrated by their attendance in specialized training and work with consultants. The Program followed through on their commitment by developing and implementing a Program Risk Management Plan. While the Program then levied the same risk management requirements and accountability on the project (each project was responsible for writing and implementing their own risk management plan), it also provided support and an example for the projects to follow thereby reducing their workload.
