Guide for the Evaluation of Fire Risk Assessments - Effective Date: 12/17/2012
Organization:
NFPA - (NFPA) - National Fluid Power Association
Year: 2013
Abstract: This guide is intended to provide assistance, primarily to authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), in evaluating the appropriateness and execution of a fire risk assessment (FRA) for a given fire safety problem. While this guide primarily addresses regulatory officials, it also is intended for others who review FRAs, such as insurance company representatives and building owners.
Purpose.
This guide is intended to assist with the evaluation of FRA methods used primarily in a performance-based regulatory environment. While the primary audience is anticipated to be authorities having jurisdiction, it is expected that the guide will be a useful resource for anyone conducting an FRA. This guide does not mandate the methods for use in demonstrating acceptable risk; rather, it describes the technical review process and documentation that are needed in evaluating an FRA.
