PLATES, TAGS, AND BANDS FOR IDENTIFICATION OF EQUIPMENT, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR

Abstract: This performance specification covers the physical characteristics of plates, tags and bands (identification devices) used for identification of equipment. Examples of information to be marked on the identification devices are covered in the applicable specification sheets.
Identification devices will be one of the following types, as specified (see 6.2):

    Type A   Etched or chemically engraved plate     Type B   Engraved plate     Type C   Stamped plate     Type D   Cast plate     Type E   Screen or litho print plate     Type F   Laminated plate     Type G   Adhesive-backed plate     Type H   Photosensitive plate     Type J   Tag     Type K1  Cable Band     Type K2  Cable Band (Heat shrinkable)     Type L   Laser generated plate
